ephemera was presented as part of my senior thesis exploring themes of the domestic – from so-called single-use woven produce bags to nostalgia-heavy rediscovery of a child’s weaving loom. I focused on the idea of home and violence enacted on people through displacement and genocide, and thinking about the ouside world as our collective home, which is being destroyed at an unimaginable rate through the same forces displacing people worldwide – unchecked capitalism, US and global imperialism, and colonialism. Each bomb dropped in Gaza emits astoundingly high levels of CO2, warming our planet irreparably.
